Watch live: Biden gives remarks touting US, Angola relationship
President Biden is delivering remarks from the National Slave Museum in Luanda, Angola, on Tuesday morning, focusing on the relationship between the U.S. and the southern African nation.
His comments come after Biden held a bilateral meeting with Angola's President João Lourenço. Biden, who hosted Lourenço at the White House in 2023, have vowed to build a stronger partnership.
His visit to Angola, fulfilling a pledge he made last year, was originally scheduled for mid-October. However, plans were roiled by the devastation from back-to-back hurricanes, Helene and Milton, in the southeastern U.S.
The event is scheduled to begin at 11:45 a.m. EST.
