Trump: PBS, AP, CBS are 'bad,' MSNBC the 'enemy'
President Trump ripped into media outlets he says are too critical of him and referred to one leading cable network as "the enemy" during an interview Tuesday.
"It's a big con job. And they are so bad for the country, so dangerous and so bad. And the media is so bad," Trump said during a joint appearance on Fox News with tech billionaire Elon Musk and host Sean Hannity. "When I watch MSNBC — which I don’t watch much, but you have to watch the enemy on occasion — the level of ... arrogance and cheating, they are just horrible people."
Hannity agreed with Trump, saying, "They lie and tell conspiracy theories."
"And they start up with the Constitution. They couldn’t care less about the Constitution. CNN, likewise. I mean, I watch them asking questions with the hatred, and I said, 'Why are you asking the question with such anger? You're asking me a normal question.' But you see the bias," Trump added. "The bias is so incredible."
The president name-checked public broadcaster PBS, The Associated Press and CBS News as three outlets he feels have treated him unfairly and are opposed to his agenda.
He railed against CBS over an interview it aired with former Vice President Kamala Harris ahead of the November election, accusing the media organization of editing the interview to show his Democratic rival in a positive light.
"I mean, CBS, now, they changed an answer in Kamala," Trump said. "They asked her some questions, she answered them like, you know, a low IQ person, the opposite of him [Musk], the absolute opposite. But she gave a horrible answer."
"They took the entire answer out and they put another answer that she gave 20 minutes later into the — as the answer," he continued. "I’ve never even heard of that. I thought I heard of it all."
The outlet recently agreed to release a full transcript of the interview.
Trump has seemingly intensified his attacks on media outlets in recent weeks, threatening to use the power of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to pull the broadcast licenses of NBC and ABC. He has also banned the AP from key White House spaces and sued CBS over the Harris interview.
During remarks from Mar-a-Lago earlier Tuesday, he also signed an executive order to give the White House more power over independent regulatory agencies, including the FCC.
