Trump now trails Harris by just 2 points among Hispanic men: Survey
Vice President Harris leads former President Trump among Hispanic male voters by 2 percentage points, according to a new Reuters/Ipsos poll.
Democrats have historically led the race for Hispanic male voters, but Trump is closing in on that gap, the poll found.
Forty-two percent of Hispanic male voters said they support Trump, while 44 percent support Harris, according to the poll. At this point of the race in 2020, President Biden led the same group by 19 percentage points in the Reuters/Ipsos polling.
The survey shows that 37 percent of registered Hispanic voters prefer Trump, compared to 30 percent in 2020. Harris is losing her edge in the community, polling at 51 percent compared to Biden’s 54 percent.
While Trump is still less popular among Black voters, he is also gaining with this demographic, the poll found.
Eighteen percent of Black men and 8 percent of Black women preferred Trump, up from 14 percent and 4 percent, respectively, in 2020.
Meanwhile, Harris is gaining on Trump among white women. In 2020, white women preferred Trump to Biden by 12 percentage points, but now that lead has been narrowed to 3 points against Harris. Overall, Trump's lead with white voters in the poll is 9 points.
The Reuters/Ipsos poll was conducted Oct. 16-21 among 15,000 respondents. The survey has levels of precision of between 2 points and 6.
