Trump, Harris separated by 1 point in Arizona, Nevada: Polling
Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Trump are separated by 1 point in Nevada and Arizona in recent polling from CNN.
The polls, released Tuesday, found Harris garnering 48 percent support from likely voters in Arizona to Trump’s 47 percent support. In Nevada, their positions were reversed, with Harris winning 47 percent, a percentage point behind Trump, at 48 percent.
Both Nevada and Arizona are key swing states that Harris or Trump may need to capture to secure the White House next week. In averages of polls from The Hill/Decision Desk HQ, Trump is ahead of Harris by 0.9 points in Nevada and 1.9 percent in Arizona.
The national average of polls from The Hill/Decision Desk is also tight, with Harris garnering 48.6 percent support and Trump garnering 47.8 percent.
Despite the importance of battleground states like Arizona and Nevada, Trump recently held a rally in the left-leaning New York over the weekend and Harris is set for a Tuesday rally in Washington, D.C., which is known for having progressive politics.
Both candidates see those events as generating headlines across the country, including in battleground states.
The poll also found that 70 percent of registered voters polled in Arizona and 72 percent in Nevada feel “extremely motivated” to vote for president.
The CNN polls took place between Oct. 21 and 26, and featured 781 Arizona registered voters and 683 registered Nevada voters.
The Arizona poll had a plus or minus 4.5 percentage point margin of sampling error for the registered voters and a plus or minus 4.4 percentage point margin of sampling error for the likely voters.
The Nevada poll had a plus or minus 4.7 percentage point margin of sampling error for the registered voters and a plus or minus 4.6 percentage point margin of sampling error for the likely voters.
