Harris holds 1-point lead over Trump in Wisconsin poll
Vice President Harris is leading former President Trump by 1 percentage point in the battleground state of Wisconsin, according to a new Marquette Law School poll released Wednesday.
When participants were asked whom they’d vote for if the general election was held today, 48 percent were in favor of the Democratic nominee while 47 percent favored the Republican candidate.
Her lead over the former president widened by 2 percentage points, 46 percent to 44 percent, when the survey measured third-party candidates including Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who earned 5 percent of voters' support, Libertarian Chase Oliver, who had 2 percent of voters' support, Green Party candidate Jill Stein, who had 1 percent, and Independent Cornel West, who was supported by 1 percent of survey takers.
Trump has a 0.6 percentage point lead in the state, according to The Hill/Decision Desk HQ's internal polling average.
The Marquette Law study also asked survey takers about candidates' favorability. Harris was favored by 46 percent of voters and viewed as unfavorable by 52 percent of voters.
Trump had 44 percent favorability rating versus 56 percent unfavorability rating.
Participants also weighed in on top issues such as health care, immigration and foreign relations. More voters favored Harris on the first topic with 48 percent of voters in favor of her leadership and 39 percent of people in favor of Trump’s leadership on the topic.
However, Trump outpaced Harris on immigration with 52 percent of survey takers trusting him compared to 37 percent who trusted Harris.
Trump also led Harris on foreign relations with 47 percent of voter support compared to her 43 percent.
The survey was taken Oct. 16-24 with 834 registered voters and a plus or minus 4.4 percentage point margin of error.
