These White House website pages are down in Trump revamp
The White House's website got a quick makeover as President Trump was sworn in on Monday, switching from Biden administration messaging to reflecting Trump's promises of sweeping change.
As the Trump administration rolls out its policies and revamps the site, several website pages have been taken down. Here's a look at those affected so far:
Constitution page
A page dedicated to the Constitution on the White House website currently reads “Page not found."
The page, under the Biden administration, spotlighted the history of the Constitution's creation, as well as the reasoning behind the U.S. having the set of guiding rules.
Spanish language page
The White House’s Spanish language page was shut down only hours after Trump returned to the presidency. Like the Constitution page, it also reads “Page not found," in English.
Back in 2017, there was also a purging of the Spanish language website by officials in the first Trump administration. In 2021, the page returned under the Biden presidency.
There is dedication “to bringing back online the Spanish translation section of the website” a White House spokesperson has told The Associated Press.
LGBTQ-related pages
Multiple pages on LGBTQ topics are down, with the words “Page not found” featured on the pages. According to Tuesday reporting from GLAAD, a pro-LGBTQ group, White House website resources and content that center around the LGBTQ community and HIV are mostly gone.
A webpage that was noted to be down by GLAAD was a page with former President Biden’s 2021 Pride Month comments. The Hill also found other dark LGBTQ-focused webpages, including a Transgender Day of Visibility page and a 2023 pro-LGBTQ actions fact sheet from the Biden administration.
National Space Council page
The page for the National Space Council also says “Page not found.” The council’s demise is probable under the second Trump administration, with SpaceX lobbyists apparently urging its shuttering, sources close to the matter said in a Tuesday report from Reuters. Elon Musk, a close Trump ally, is the CEO of SpaceX.
The Hill has reached out to the White House for comment on the LGBTQ pages, and National Space Council page.
