Trump announces additional senior White House officials
President-elect Trump has announced additional senior White House officials, further filling out his team ahead of his inauguration on Jan. 20.
Trump picked Stanley Woodward to join the White House legal team as senior counselor, stating he will work “closely” with the president-elect's incoming chief of staff, Susie Wiles.
Woodward previously has represented a number of Trump’s top associates and aides, including valet Walt Nauta, along with people who were charged over the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol. He is the co-founder of the Washington-based brand Woodward Law firm.
"Previously, he worked at a multinational law firm where his experience included the representation of multiple international corporations in defense of alleged violations of the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act as well as serving as coordinating counsel to companies involved in nationwide federal litigation,” Trump said on Saturday.
Robert Gabriel Jr. will return to the White House as the assistant to the president for policy. He was an associated producer on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle.” Previously, he worked in a variety of roles, including in the West Wing, as an advisor to Trump’s Save America Leadership PAC, among other positions.
Additionally, Trump picked Nicholas Luna to be the next deputy chief of staff for strategic implementation. Luna, who previously worked on Vice President-elect JD Vance’s team, testified in front of the House select committee that probed the Jan. 6 attack.
Trump praised Luna in the announcement as a “highly respected White House veteran and a Trump-Vance campaign warrior.” The president-elect said Luna will “oversee Presidential scheduling, and ensure that external White House messaging, outreach, and operations are aligned with the administration’s short- and long-term objectives.”
Trump selected William "Beau" Harrison to be an assistant to the president and deputy chief of staff for operations. During Trump’s first White House term, Harrison was “the liaison between the operational elements of the Executive Office of the President,” Trump said.
Harrison, who Trump called a “trusted aide,” “led multiple U.S. delegations across the globe in countries such as North Korea, Iraq, and Afghanistan, and played a critical role in planning each of the historic summits with DPRK Leader Kim Jong-Un,” according to the president-elect.
