Thanksgiving meal deals: Here's what grocery stores are offering
(NewsNation) — Thanksgiving dinner is expected to cost less this year, and major grocers across the U.S. are competing for a spot on the table, offering meal deals to win over customers.
Lower turkey prices have helped push down the cost of a classic feast to $58.08, a 5% decrease from a year ago, according to the American Farm Bureau Federation’s annual survey released this week.
Major food retailers like Walmart, Aldi and Target have all launched Thanksgiving deals with lower prices than last year.
Walmart says its 29-item meal can serve eight people for less than $7 a person. Target slashed its Turkey Day meal price by $5 from a year ago. Meanwhile, German-owned Aldi said it's charging 'pre-inflation' prices for its Thanksgiving basket.
