Polish PM jokes about military service for new citizen Jesse Eisenberg

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk joked about actor Jesse Eisenberg undergoing military training after the film star was approved for Poland citizenship last week.
The country introduced a new mandate requiring all male adults to train for combat around the same time.
“The president personally gave it [citizenship] to me last week. It was amazing. You know, it was a great honor,” Eisenberg said on "The Tonight Show" with host Jimmy Fallon.
“I'd been trying for, like, you know, a year and a half, and then I get it, and the next day, I open the news … and the top story was, Poland now requires all males to participate in military training. This was, like, the day after I got it,” Eisenberg added.
Tusk weighed in on Eisenberg’s shock after receiving the information.
“Dear Jesse, get ready! I’ll have news for you tomorrow,” Tusk wrote Friday on social platform X, referencing the actor's comments.
Eisenberg recently spotlighted Poland in his new film "A Real Pain," which he wrote, directed and starred in.
The motion picture focuses on the relationship between two Jewish cousins who head to Poland in search of uncovering more about their heritage while tracing the ancestry of their grandmother.
Kieran Culkin, who plays Eisenberg’s disgruntled cousin in the movie, won an Academy Award and Golden Globe Award for best supporting actor months after his performance debuted on screen.
