Nikki Haley tells Pennsylvania voters: 'Take the emotion out' of vote
Former GOP presidential primary candidate Nikki Haley told Pennsylvania voters to “take the emotion” out of their votes on Wednesday.
“I’m gonna ask all of you, to take the emotion out of this election,” she said on Wednesday. “We need to take the emotion out of this election and really think about the policy and what it means for our kids and the next generation.”
Haley, who was in the Keystone State to support Republican Senate candidate Dave McCormick, also said, “When I tell you this can’t be emotional, we have to do more than just elect Dave McCormick.”
“We have to elect Donald Trump,” she added. “Because if Donald Trump wins Pennsylvania, Dave McCormick wins Pennsylvania.”
Haley and former President Trump went head-to-head in this year’s GOP presidential primary, and the two often went after each other during their fight for the Republican nomination. She later said, however, she would vote for him.
“As a voter, I put my priorities on a president who’s going to have the backs of our allies and hold our enemies to account, who would secure the border, no more excuses,” Haley said in May. “A president who would support capitalism and freedom, a president who understands we need less debt not more debt.”
“Trump has not been perfect on these policies. I’ve made that clear, many, many times. But [President] Biden has been a catastrophe. So, I will be voting for Trump,” she said.
Trump is ahead of Vice President Harris in Pennsylvania by 0.5 points in an average of polls from The Hill/Decision Desk HQ, while McCormick is behind incumbent Sen. Bob Casey (D-Pa.) by 2.2 points in an average of Pennsylvania polls from The Hill/Decision Desk HQ.
