Harris, Trump deadlocked in Pennsylvania: Poll
Vice President Harris leads former President Trump by two points as the two battle for a narrow win in Pennsylvania, a Friday Fox News poll shows.
Harris edged out Trump, 50 percent to his 48 percent of support among registered voters, while the race is tied among likely voters.
The Republican nominee resonates with Keystone State voters on issues like immigration and the economy, with more than half of voters reporting he’d do a better job on those issues than Harris, according to the polling.
Eighty-six percent of Trump’s supporters are certain of their vote compared to 92 percent of Harris’s supporters. Over the past two months, Harris has made gains with women voters increasing her favorability by 9 points and has proven to resonate with college students and recent graduates.
Since July, voters under the age of 30 have seen a 17 point spike in support of Harris, as per the Fox News poll.
Trump’s most passionate demographic are men, white without a college degree and rural voters. Friday's Fox News poll says Trump has nearly doubled his lead among men and independents since July.
"Pennsylvania is not breaking open and shouldn’t be expected to. Both candidates have a little way to go to consolidate their bases and whoever does a better job there could determine who wins the state," said Chris Anderson, a Democrat who conducts Fox News surveys alongside Republican Daron Shaw.
Polling from The Hill and Decision Desk HQ shows Harris with a 1.3 percent lead in the Keystone State, citing a three point gain among voters last week, according to a Morning Consult/Bloomberg poll.
The Fox News poll was conducted between Sept. 20-24 with 1,021 randomly selected Pennsylvania registered voters under the joint direction of Beacon Research (D) and Shaw & Company Research (R).
Respondents either spoke with interviewers via phone or completed an online survey after receiving a text. Results were within the margin of sampling error of plus or equal to 3 percentage points and for the subsample of 775 likely voters it plus or equal to 3.5 percentage points.
