President Biden has agreed to sit for the first television interview he has granted since last week's presidential debate.
The interview will air on ABC and be conducted by "This Week” and "Good Morning America" anchor George Stephanopoulos.
Portions of the conversation will be broadcast first on Friday, the network said, with the full extended interview airing Sunday on “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” and Monday on “Good Morning America.”
The network did not preview what questions Biden will face or how long the interview will last.
The sit-down comes as Biden faces intensifying questions about his age and mental fitness for office, following a shaky performance during last week's presidential debate, which has sparked some calls for him to drop out of the race.
Stephanopoulos has been the anchor of "This Week" for more than two decades and was previously a top democratic adviser and communications director for former President Clinton.
ABC is slated to hold the second presidential debate between Biden and former President Trump, scheduled for Sept. 10.
