‘Going in wrong direction’ – F1 drivers have lost confidence in leadership

Formula One drivers are fed up and losing confidence in the FIA and the governing body’s president, Mohammed Ben Sulayem, after receiving no response to their collective criticism of both in a public statement. They had called for dialogue to address their grievances but the FIA has not replied since it was issued two weeks ago.
This weekend’s Las Vegas Grand Prix is the first meeting since the Grand Prix Drivers’ Association (GPDA) issued its statement, a damning indictment of the FIA and Ben Sulayem, demanding they stop treating all 20 drivers on the grid like children. It addressed the recent controversy over swearing, took issue with the “tone and language” used by Ben Sulayem in relation to his objections to the swearing and questioned the financial transparency of the FIA in how the organisation used the money from fines imposed.
