Child ‘trampled’ to death among fatalities on Channel boat, says French minister
Young child reportedly found on overcrowded boat trying to cross Channel, hours after G7 countries agree plan to combat smuggling gangs
A child was reported to be among several people who died attempting to cross the Channel overnight, according to French officials.
The French interior minister, Bruno Retailleau, suggested the child had been “trampled to death” on a boat.
