The Casting Of Frank Stone Trinkets Guide - Where To Find All 12 Trinkets
Uncovering the deeper story being told in The Casting of Frank Stone often requires scouring corners and side paths. To learn about the backstories of different characters and fill in the blanks of the narratives, finding collectibles is an essential part of the experience. One set of collectibles, Frank Stone's Trinkets, give you a little more insight into the psyche of The Casting of Frank Stone's murderous villain, and they're the toughest items to find in the game--which is why we've created this guide, identifying the location of all 12. You'll need to get them all to earn the Plunderer's Instinct Achievement/Trophy.
It's worth noting that you can only get 11 trinkets on your first run through the game--Trinkets 5 and 6 are split up by a choice of which path to take through the game, and if you pick one, you can't get to the other. Also making things a little weird is Trinket 4, which is found out of order from the others. You'll need a key from earlier in the chapter to reach it, and you'll find more trinkets once you've got the key, which might explain why it gets counted so early.
This guide will go through the trinkets in order of when you'll encounter the items you need to unlock them, so you'll find them counted out of order below. Note that you can always open the tool box, usually found near a trinket in every chapter, to keep track of which ones you have. Some trinkets can also be be nabbed in later chapters if you miss them in earlier ones, if they take place in the same physical space.
Finally, keep in mind that this guide contains spoilers. We recommend you play through The Casting of Frank Stone once blind before looking up where to find its collectibles. On a second playthrough, you'll get the Plunderer's Instinct upgrade, which highlights trinkets when they're nearby, and access to the Cutting Room Floor feature in the menu, which lets you return to individual scenes in the story.

Trinket 1: Iridescent King - Chapter 1, Mill Yard
Right after taking control of Sam at the Cedar Mill in Chapter 1, head to the right side of the area and look for a light over a hole in the wall you can squeeze through.
Just through the squeeze, turn left and go around the tank to find the trinket box on the ground.
Trinket 2: Wooden Horse - Chapter 1, Storm Drain
Find the crowbar to open the grate into the storm drain (see Trinket 7 for more info--you'll need to use the crowbar now so it's available in the future). After climbing down, the ladder will give way. Turn around and head down the hall in the opposite direction from where Sam is facing when you get control of him. You'll see a tunnel that turns to your left.
Head down the tunnel and look for an open door on the right. Go through and head around the corner to the back of the room to find the trinket box.
Trinket 3: Waterlogged Shoe - Chapter 3, Drug Store
Head into the drug store and move to the right side of the room to walk down the aisle that's furthest from the checkout counter.
The trinket box is on the bottom shelf, about halfway down the aisle.
Trinket 5: Tattooed Middle Finger - Chapter 5, Creek South (Long Route)
On your way to the storm drain to sneak into the mill, Robert will give you a choice about the path ahead. You can either choose to jump the fence, coming close to Sheriff Green's patrol route, or take a longer path across the creek instead. Choose the longer route across creek to find Trinket 5.
Follow the path until you climb some concrete steps and then cross a thin concrete beam. Ahead, you'll see a narrow plank that cross the gap to another platform. Balance across the plank to find the trinket box just beyond, before you drop down.
Trinket 6: Mother Daughter Ring - Chapter 5, Creek North (Short Route)
To get Trinket 6, you'll need to take the choice to jump the fence on the way to the storm drain, which means replaying the chapter once you have access to the Cutting Room Floor feature. Right after jumping the fence, move forward until you see a chain-link fence on the left side of the path.
Just past the fence is a large rock covered in moss. You'll see a hole in the rock you can slip through to get to the trinket box on your left.
Trinket 4: Chapter 5, Casting Shed
Weirdly, you'll find Trinket 4 after Trinkets 5 and 6, and not until you're in the mill. This one is easy to miss because it requires searching within the storm drain to find a key that you won't use until much later. When you enter the storm drain, follow Robert until you pass the yellow graffiti that reads, "This way fellow traveler." Go around the next corner into a long hallway and look for a broken grate on the right side that you can jump through.
Open the door beyond the grate to find a big open room. Head to the right side to a table, where you can pick up a key for the Casting Shed. You'll need this for later. Keep in mind that picking up the key is not tracked on the Cutting Room Floor menu, so if you use it to skip to other scenes, Chris won't have the key later in the chapter.
After Jaime and Bonnie have their argument, Chris, Jaime, and Robert will go looking for the Machine Shop. You'll enter a big room with archways on the right side and steps on the left. Head to the back of this room to find a locked door with a sign that says Casting Foundry and open it up with the key you got.
Inside, you'll have to create a platforming path that will lead you to the trinket. On the left side of the room, pull out the shelves from the wall, and on the right side, move a rolling cart to make a platform you can climb up to the catwalk.
Follow it all the way around and jump across the shelves you moved to reach the trinket at the end. You can lower a ladder to get down to where you started.
Trinket 7: Wooden Oni Mask - Chapter 5, Mill Yard
Back in the mill yard, Bonnie will show up as you head for the furnace room. Instead of following Chris, instead, turn right and go back into the yard. Straight ahead of you, in the corner, is the grate Sam opened with the crowbar to get into the storm drain in 1963. If you head to the grate, you can find the crowbar you used in Chapter 1 on the ground. Grab it.
Now turn left and go across the yard toward the opposite corner. You're looking for a small shed set against the wall with a slanted roof.
Use the crowbar to open the door and you can get into the shed, where the trinket box is waiting.
Trinket 8: Blighted Rat - Chapter 5, Furnace Room
Next, the group enters the furnace room. You'll probably see the trinket box on your right as you enter; it's on the platform where Sam shot Frank Stone in Chapter 1. In order to get to it, you'll need to activate the nearby machine, but it requires a crank. Head down the ramp and look for stairs to the right of the door.
Go up them to the wall and then turn right to find a hole you can squeeze through. The crank is on the ground on the other side.
Go back up the ramp and use the crank on the gray machine on the left side of the room.
That'll move the platform so that you can step onto it. The trinket box is right in the middle.
Trinket 9: Victor's Soldiers - Chapter 6, Sanctum
Solving the puzzle to open the metal door with the tumblers will open your way into the Sanctum, a room full of artifacts. Head to the back corner, to the right of the double doors on the far end of the room.
The trinket is on the ground next to a white stone statue.
Trinket 10: Diamond Cufflinks - Chapter 7, Wagon Shed
Linda uses the camera to face off against Frank Stone in Chapter 7. Once you've fixed the generator, you can use the scissor lift to get to the catwalk above and leave the wagon shed. Outside, instead of taking the stairs down, look for a beam you can balance on that will take you to a platform to your right.
The trinket box is on the far side of the balance beam, waiting on the platform. You can climb down from here, rather than balancing back to the stairs.
Trinket 11: Sacrificial Knife - Chapter 12, Corridor
Open the secret passageway in the bedroom and use it to head down to the floor below. When you exit the passageway back into the hallway, turn left and follow the hall around the corner. Look for a killer doll on a table on the right side of the hall.
Just past the doll is a trinket box, also on the right side of the hall on a small table.
Trinket 12: Blacksmith's Hammer - Chapter 14, Corridor
Escaping from Frank Stone after he emerges from the movie screen, Linda and/or Madi will run down a hallway to an elevator. When the find it doesn't work, you'll take control. Head left, past the door you can open, and go around the corner to find the trinket box on the left.
Grabbing the final trinket earns you the Plunderer's Instinct Achievement/Trophy. Unfortunately, though, apart from the quotes attached to each trinket that give you a little more insight into Frank Stone's story, you don't get anything else for seeking out all these collectibles.
