Nintendo fans won't have to wait much longer to get their hands on the Switch 2. The successor to one of the best-selling video game consoles of all time is slated to release June 5, Nintendo announced during its hour-long livestream that fully lifted the veil on the Switch 2. You will have to wait a bit longer than expected to preorder the Nintendo Switch 2, though. After initially announcing a preorder date of April 9, Nintendo has delayed preorders in the US while it reviews new tariffs imposed by the Trump Administration.
When preorders do eventually go live, the Switch 2 will be available on its own or in a bundle with Mario Kart World. It's unclear if the console and/or the bundle will receive price increases. Nintendo originally announced the console would cost $450 on its own and $500 with Mario Kart World in the United States.
