Nintendo Indie World April 2024 Showcase: All The Biggest Announcements
Nintendo has had an informative 2024 so far, and following in the footsteps of recent Direct and Pokemon Presents livestreams, the company is shining a spotlight on upcoming indie games for the Switch console.
A small livestream, there were some great games on show from several indie developers. Ranging from embroidery puzzles to fascinating retro-inspired adventures, all of the titles featured are currently scheduled to launch later in 2024. Several of them already have confirmed release dates, as well as demos to download right now from the Nintendo eShop.
Here's a look at everything that was announced, although if you were hoping for a Hollow Knight: Silksong reveal, you were sadly out of luck.
Little Kitty, Big City
A game about being a curious cat in an urban jungle, Little Kitty, Big City will let you explore, help out animal pals, and even engage in some feline fashion. It'll be pouncing onto Switch on May 9.
Yars Rising
A metroidvania reboot of Atari's classic Yars games, this new take on the series is developed by Shantae studio WayForward and will be out later this year.
Refind Self: The Personality Game
Out this summer, Refind Self will put you in the mechanical boots of an android looking for answers. Interact with the robots and unravel the secrets behind the future your creator searched for as you carry on their legacy. By the time you're done, the game will reveal what type of personality you have from a pool of 23 possible outcomes.
Sticky Business
Sticky Business lets you experience the joy of running your own cozy small business. You'll create stickers, pack orders, and hear stories from your customers as you aim to build the cutest shop on the internet. It's now available for Switch and includes new DLC.
Antonblast
A fast-paced platformer full of explosive action, Antonblast will see you tussle with huge bosses in your quest to deal with the devil. Satan himself has stolen Anton's prized Spirit collection, and he'll destroy everything in his path to get it back and make the devil pay for his crimes. A demo is now available ahead of the game's release on November 12.
Valley Peaks
A ribbiting first-person climbing platformer, Valley Peaks has a wholesome look to its design and treats each mountain like a puzzle to solve. As you ascend to the top of every ridge to place radio towers for the froggy inhabitants of Valley Peaks, you can stop to chat with the folks around you and help them out in small quests.
Lorelei and the Laser Eyes
Described as a non-linear puzzle game by Sayonora Wild Hearts developer Simogo, Lorelei and the Laser Eyes will test your grey matter with over 100 handcrafted puzzles. Shifting mechanics and perspectives will constantly challenge you, and the game is scheduled to arrive on Switch and other consoles on May 16.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate
A former Apple Arcade-exclusive game, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate puts a roguelike spin on the half-shell heroes as they protect New York from Shredder and the foot clan. Each Ninja Turtle has unique skills to master, and during your adventure, you'll take on familiar foes like Bebop and Rocksteady.

Europa
In this 3D action-platformer, an android named Zee sets out to discover just what happened to the mighty alien civilization that once lived on this moon. Using a jetpack to fly across lakes, meadows, and mountains, Zee will need to solve puzzles and navigate hidden dangers amongst the ruins as they discover the story of the last human alive. Out later this year, a demo is now available on the Nintendo eShop.
Cat Quest 3
An action-RPG where you'll play as a swashbuckling feline privateer, the third game in the Cat Quest series sees you return to the Purribean in search of the North Star, a long-lost mythical treasure. You'll have to watch out for Pi-Rats on your journey, but you can team up with friends in local co-op to help you out. In a series first, Cat Quest 3 will let you sail the seas and take on enemies with your very own battleship. It'll be out on August 8 for Switch, and a demo for the game is now available.

Anyone looking to experience the thrill of needlework can check out Stitch, a game where you'll create beautiful embroidery patterns by solving puzzles. For anyone looking for a challenge, the game will cater to you with a Free Stitch mode, Daily Shikaku puzzles, and weekly Hoops inspired by real-life events. Stitch is available starting today on Switch.
Bzzzt
Another fast-paced platformer for the list, Bzzt has a retro-future feel and is scheduled to launch in Summer 2024.
Schim
Blending elements of light and shadow into its gameplay, 3D platformer Schim will launch July 18 for Switch.
Animal Well
Out on May 9, Animal Well is an action-adventure game where you'll explore a series of rooms, each one filled with dangerous challenges. Can you survive this labyrinth, or will you fall victim to the dangers lurking within it?
Duck Detective: The Secret Salami
There's a mystery to solve, and by using the powers of de-duck-tion in Duck Detective: The Secret Salami, you'll soon quack this case. It'll be making a splash on Switch on May 23.
Another Crab's Treasure
Another Crab's Treasure--a game where you play as a hermit crab trying to reclaim your prized shell in a polluted ocean--will be out on April 25.
SteamWorld Heist 2
While the Indie Showcase didn't end with a Silksong trailer, it did have a pleasant surprise waiting at the end. A new entry in Thunderful's SteamWorld series, SteamWorld Heist 2, is getting ready to pull off a fresh caper on August 8. As the captain of a motley crew of Steambots, you'll lead your robotic ruffians through intense turn-based gunfights, and new features include real-time naval combat against enemy vessels, a world-map to explore, and in-depth character customization options to tinker with.
