Infinity Nikki has you roaming around various regions of Miraland in search of Miracle Outfits and all sorts of goodies. With a lot of collectibles to find, you might be wondering which ones tend to be very valuable. Here's our guide on how to get Whimstars in Infinity Nikki.

How to get Whimstars in Infinity Nikki

The Infinity Nikki Whimstars are collectibles found in every region in the game world. The tally can be seen in the top-right corner of the world map, as well as whenever you're inside dungeons. Once you have enough of these, you can check the Heart of Infinity screen ("I" key) to unlock permanent upgrade nodes, craftable items, and even Ability Outfits.

Momo can help you track Whimstars

The good thing about looking for Whimstars in Infinity Nikki is that your cat companion, Momo, helps you track them. Whenever a Whimstar is nearby, Momo will let you know via a message at the top-left corner of your screen.
If your press the "V" key, you'll change to Momo's view, which pauses the game. This allows you to pan the camera around to look for Whimstars. Upon spotting one, just press the "F" key to track it.

Whimstar collection: Grab that star

Generally speaking, you can get Whimstars in Infinity Nikki just by grabbing the object itself. However, there are many instances when this requires more effort. Here are some examples:
Whimstar Chase - This usually occurs when a Whimstar is inside a crate. Break it open via a plunging attack, then sprint to catch up to the flying item.
Whimstar Collectathon - There are times when you'll see several Whimstar outlines popping up. You'll have to collect all of these within the time limit.
Whimstar Cloudy Rail - Another variant is when you have to ride a cloud on a rail. You can't stay on the cloud the whole time, since you have to hop off to pick up other stars nearby.

Whimstar collection: Hidden object

The Hidden Object variant, as the term implies, requires you to look for a star-shaped object in the vicinity. This could be a graffiti drawn on a wall or an ornament hanging from a pillar. As long as it's star-shaped, just approach it and press the "F" key to interact with it. This will cause the Whimstar to pop up.

Whimstar collection: Up in the sky

In some cases, Whimstars might seem unreachable because they're high up in the air. If you stumble upon these, you must look for:
Giant leaves or nets - Hop on these so you can jump higher.
Giant birds - Look for their nests and pet them while wearing the Bye-Bye Dust outfit. This allows you to ride them as they fly to the sky. You can then glide/float toward the Whimstar once the bird is close enough to it.

Whimstar collection: Shiny creatures

Many Whimstars in Infinity Nikki are actually embedded in magical creatures, which you need to groom or catch:
Whimstar Ferrets - Equip the Bye-Bye Dust outfit and approach them stealthily by holding the right mouse button.
Whimstar Bugs - Equip the Afternoon Shine outfit. Then, jump up to reach them and press the right mouse button quickly. Doing this will let you catch them with your net.
Whimstar Fish - Equip the Rippling Serenity outfit and start the fishing minigame. These creatures tend to be harder to catch than other types of fish.

Whimstar collection: Enemy guards

From time to time, you might spot treasure chests with a distinct pink glow. If you attempt to unlock these, several Esseling enemies will spawn. Defeat all of them to open the chest and receive your reward.

Whimstar collection: Curio Domains

By far the most unique Infinity Nikki Whimstar activities involve Curio Domains. These are gateways that lead to small, strange-looking areas where you have to complete puzzles, somewhat akin to shrines in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Examples include:
Jumping on ledges without falling down below.
Rotating pillars to match colors and symbols.
Activating switches to make a ball reach a receptacle.
Using boxes and platforms to reach the opposite side.

Whimstar collection: Stray Hatty

Last but not least, you can acquire Whimstars from an NPC named Stray Hatty, who's found just south of the Stylist's Guild in the town of Florawish. However, Stray Hatty won't give these items for free. You need to pay Blings (i.e. gold). The more you keep asking him for Whimstars, the higher the cost will be--up to millions, in fact.
