Indiana Jones And The Great Circle - All Gizeh Stele Locations
The desert plains of Gizeh is where you'll spend a few hours as you continue the campaign in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Just like the Strange Inscriptions in the Vatican, there are certain objects that you need to obtain while exploring. Here's our guide on where to find all Gizeh Stele locations in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
All locations of Gizeh Stele in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle - The Idol of Ra and Belongs in a Museum guide
The Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Gizeh Stele fragments are scattered all over the region. There are 10 of them in total, and our guide has all the details that you need. Note that these objects are part of the main quest, The Idol of Ra, and a continuation side quest called Belongs in a Museum.
Be sure to purchase the lighter
Before you head out on a trek, be sure to purchase the lighter from Asmaa, a vendor in Gizeh Village. She sells this item for 75 Egyptian Pounds. You're going to need a lighter with you at all times because many of the locations that you explore will be dark or inaccessible without it.
Gizeh Stele map
Above is a map of all the stele in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. We've numbered these based on when we obtained these fragments, but there are a few caveats:
- Six of these are available early in the Gizeh arc. However, only four are required to advance The Idol of Ra main quest.
- Once you've escaped the Temple Excavation Site as part of the main quest, you're told that four more stele locations have been discovered.
Stele #1: Giant Stele
You can find the first stele just east of the Sphinx ruins. There, you'll see a pit with a dead soldier down below. You can lower yourself down by using your whip. Use your lighter to burn the thatch of grass and crawl through the opening to get the item.
Stele #2: Protector Stele - Finding the Pendant
Finding this particular Gizeh Stele in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle tends to be more involved, as it's part of the Sanctuary of the Guardians side quest. If you head to the left-hand side portion of the Sphinx, you can drop down an entrance to a dig site. There, you'll encounter Gina, and you'll be able to pick up the Digsite Outfit, one of several disguises in the game.
You won't be able to enter the underground section, though, because you need a pendant. If you track the Sanctuary of the Guardians quest, you'll realize that it's in the Recreation Area.
Be sure to wear the Digsite Outfit when you enter the tent. This will cause one of the officers to tell you to bring a bottle of alcohol to him. Do as he asks so you don't provoke all the hostiles into a fight. Then, pick up the medallion when the coast is clear.
Note: Before you return to Gina at the Sphinx, be sure to grab Stele #3 and #4 since they're close by.
Stele #2: Protector Stele - Light Mirror Puzzle and Scorpions
The Sanctuary of the Guardians side quest leads you further down the underground section of the Sphinx. Here's a quick summary:
- There's a Light Mirror puzzle where you need to shine a beam of light on a receptacle.
- Interact with the Golden Mask to trigger a cutscene.
- The room will start crawling with numerous scorpions. Light a torch and wave it around to scare them.
- Grab the mining pick and destroy the breakable wall so Indy and Gina can pass through.
Stele #2: Protector Stele - Even more Light Mirrors
Further onward, there's another chamber where you have to use more Light Mirrors:
- Shine a light on the first receptacle and help Gina reach the side room.
- Take the Brass Mirror and place it on the pedestal to the left. Aim the beam at the receptacle in the center.
- Shine the central beam to Gina so she can reflect it. This will open the door at the back.
There's also a section here where you have to get past more scorpions, but Gina will assist you. At the very end, you'll find the Protector Stele.
Stele #3: Sebek Stele
There's an opening that leads to a small chamber just northeast of the Recreation Area. Use your lighter to burn the obstacle and go through the passageway.
Stele #4: Harvest Stele
There's a crate on the truck in the Recreation Area's garage. Use the code 0-8-0-5 to open it.
Stele #5: Victory Stele
Further west of the map, there's a tomb that's filled with scorpions. Light a torch on fire and swipe at the scorpions to scare them away, then grab the stele in the small nook.
Stele #6: Light Stele - Powering up the Elevator
The Tomb of Khentkawes I is in the southwestern portion of the map. If you talk to the friendly NPC at the camp, it will start the Secret of the Queen Mother side quest.
- Your initial objective is to restore power to the elevator by activating the generators.
- There are two main chambers near the elevator area. The first has a couple of Nazis frolicking in the water. Activate the generator here to electrocute them.
- The other chamber has a switch at the top of a scaffolding. Some enemy soldiers will show up once you've flipped the switch, so try your best to avoid them.
Stele #6: Light Stele - Queen's Chamber Puzzle
Once the power to the elevator has been restored, ride it down to the queen's secret underground chamber. There, you'll see a mural with indentations on the wall, as well as three circular plates with drawings. You need to place the stone disks with illustrations in the correct slots:
- Top slot: Bird
- Middle slot: Snake
- Bottom slot: Fish
A light will shine through and point at the breakable wall at the back. Destroy it with a two-handed weapon and grab your reward.
Intermission: Handing the Gizeh Stele to Nawal and starting the Belongs in a Museum quest
You only need four stele in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle to proceed with the Idol of Ra main quest. When you return to Nawal, she'll tell you to hand them over to her delivery boy so the items can be taken to the Cairo Museum. This leads to the next portion of the main quest, where you have to complete objectives in the Nazi-run facility to the north.
Once you've escaped the Temple Excavation Site, an NPC will tell you that there are more stelae to be found. Return to Nawal and pick up another document that lists the remaining locations. This kickstarts the Belongs in a Museum side quest.
Stele #7: Death Stele
Make your way to the southern portion of the Sphinx ruins. You have to cross the gap by flinging your whip at two grapple points.
Stele #8: Construction Stele - Savage and Sydney
For this particular Gizeh Stele in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, head to Gizeh Village to have a chat with your old pal Professor Savage. He tells you that Sydney has been taken prisoner by Voss' goons and you have to save him.
We recommend tackling this as soon as you can. That's because you'll discover several clues as to Sydney's whereabouts, and these are close to where you'll find Stele #9 and #10. Here's a quick summary:
- At first, you'll learn that Sydney was taken to the detention center in the Nazi Compound to the north (near Stele #9).
- Once you've read the note that's been left behind, you'll realize that he's in Khafre Excavation Site (near Stele #10).
- Check the note there to learn that he's in the A1 site. Drop down the pit and lead him to safety in the tunnels.
- Later when you return to Professor Savage, you'll see that Sydney is safe and sound. You'll also receive the Construction Stele for your troubles.
Stele #9: Amon Stele
The Amon Stele is in the main building in the Nazi Compound. It's one floor below Voss' office. Make sure you already have the Wehrmacht Uniform and Wehrmacht Key so you can open the armory.
Stele #10: Ra Stele
Lastly, the Ra Stele is in Khafre Excavation Site. This area has two grapple points for your whip. Upon jumping off the second grapple point, look back the way you came to see a nook that leads to a metal gate. Use your whip to grapple again and try to grip the ledge.
Belongs in a Museum reward
Once you have all the remaining stele, bring them to Nawal's delivery boy. For your efforts, you'll receive a Gizeh Relic, which helps you complete this chapter's Riddles of the Ancients collectible side quest.
That does it for our guide on where to find all Gizeh Stele in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. If you're planning to progress to the end of this chapter, be sure to read our Chamber of Resonance guide and Three-Eyed Gate guide.
