Over the last couple of years, 8BitDo has expanded into the PC peripherals market with keyboards and mice that have been inspired by vintage video game consoles like the NES. For its next keyboard, the company is looking back to a more recent era and taking design cues from one of the coolest-looking consoles of all time: The transparent green Xbox. The eye-catching Xbox-themed 8BitDo Retro 87 TKL keyboard releases alongside a matching Retro R7 wireless mouse mouse on January 16, 2025, and you can preorder both at Amazon.

8BitDo's Retro 87 TKL Xbox edition keyboard was designed in partnership with Xbox, and it sports several touches that call back to Microsoft's first home gaming console, including a translucent green plastic shell and directional keys sporting the same colors as the Xbox controller face buttons. There's also an integrated Xbox button for pulling up the Xbox overlay menu on Windows. Like 8BitDo's other console-inspired mechanical keyboards, the Retro 87 TKL comes with two big, customizable microswitch buttons in the same style as the keyboard.
