You thought Happy Gilmore had anger management issues. This pro golfer taped his own mouth shut

Golf is nothing if not a self-policing sport. Ryan McCormick is taking that to the next level.

"Been having not so fun time this year on the golf course. Pretty angry and mad. So I figured I've tried a lot of things and I just figured I'd shut myself up, so I put tape over my mouth," he said in a video posted by the Korn Ferry Tour's social media team. "I mean, at this point, I've tried about everything. I've read a lot of books. I've talked to people. Just too angry on the golf course so I have run out of ideas."

He took the tape off to give the full explanation on camera, admitting he first had the thought of taping his mouth shut a couple of weeks ago.

"Just unfortunately came down to that today. I was hoping maybe it would help me. I can't say that it did or didn't.

"It certainly makes you breathe. I mean, you know, I felt like Bane, like in Batman, just muzzle myself."

McCormick is taking this issue head-on, fully admitting that his anger gets the best of him.

"I'm not, like, proud but, you know it's... I don't want to create an experience for my playing partners that's not fair. .... I, you know, having a tough time, and that was my solution today.

McCormick shot 73, then 72, and was at 1 over, four shots off the cutline at the Club Car Championship at the Landings Golf & Athletic Club in Savannah, Georgia. It's the 108th KFT event he's played in, and the seventh this season. In six previous starts, he made three cuts, had one missed cut and two withdrawals.
