TCU stands for Texas Christian University. The private Christian university was established in 1873 by brothers Addison and Randolph Clark.
What is a Horned Frog?
Although the name is horned frog, the species' real is name is "Texas horned lizard" because it has spikes. But in Texas, the animal is known as a horned frog. The school earned the name when the founders were thinking of different names and found that the football field was covered in "small-but-mighty horned lizards."

Mark Campbell has been TCU's head coach since 2023. He was previously the head coach at Sacramento State and served as an associate head coach at Oregon and Oregon State.
