When does selection Sunday start? Where to watch NCAA March Madness 2025

College hoops fans rejoice: Selection Sunday is upon us. As we've reached the end of the regular season and conference tournaments, it's now time for the 68-team brackets for the men's and women's NCAA basketball tournaments to be revealed.

March Madness, as the tournament is dubbed, kicks off later this week, but first the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee will tell us what college basketball teams made the tournament, who got snubbed and what matchups to keep our eyes on.

By the time of the broadcast, 31 men's college basketball teams will have already punched their ticket to the Big Dance by virtue of winning their conference tournament. The Selection Show will reveal the other 37 at-large teams to make the tournament, as decided by the NCAA selection committee, and also where those teams are seeded (from 1 to 16), and who they're playing.

What time does Selection Sunday start?

Selection Sunday for March Madness 2025 is Sunday, March 16. The men's tournament bracket will be revealed on CBS at 6 p.m. ET, and the women's bracket will be revealed at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Keep in mind, the men's bracket reveal may be delayed until the end of the final men's conference championship game: the Big Ten Championship between Wisconsin and Michigan State, which tips off at 3:30 p.m.

On the broadcast, analysts will not only reveal the teams who made the tournament and their opening round matchups, they'll also give viewers some insight into how the selection committee made their decisions, what teams are well-positioned for a deep run and which teams should be on upset alert. If you're filling out a bracket this year, it helps to tune in.

How to watch Selection Sunday March Madness 2025?

The men's tournament bracket will be revealed on CBS, and the women's will be revealed on ESPN. If those channels are included in your cable package, go there.

But if not, look to the streamers. Selection Sunday can be live-streamed on Paramount+, Sling TV and DirecTV Stream, in addition to the ESPN app and Fubo, which carries both ESPN and CBS. If it's your first time with these streaming platforms, you might be able to score a free trial.

Who's replacing Greg Gumble on Selection Sunday?

Adam Zucker will replace Greg Gumble on CBS's Selection Sunday broadcast in 2025; Gumble died of cancer last December.

Zucker is no stranger to college sports coverage — he filled in for Gumble on last year's selection show and hosts the network's studio coverage of college football.

Gumble was the face of Selection Sunday since he began on the broadcast in 1998. The network is planning to honor Gumble during the telecast, according to SI Media.

When is March Madness played?

The men's college basketball tournament will take place throughout March and into early April at arenas across the country. Here's the list of dates on which games will be played.

First Four: March 18-19
First round: March 20-21
Second round: March 22-23
Sweet 16: March 27-28
Elite Eight: March 29-30
Final Four: April 5 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas
NCAA championship game: April 7 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas

And here are the dates for the women's college basketball tournament in 2025:

First Four: March 19-20
First round: March 21-22
Second round: March 23-24
Sweet 16: March 28-29
Elite Eight: March 30-31
Final Four: Friday, April 4 at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida
NCAA championship game: Sunday, April 6 at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida
