The latest goal netted by Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. proved an altogether significant one when it comes to the club’s storied history books.
This comes with the Brazilian having overtaken a legendary fellow countryman in Los Blancos’ goalscoring charts.
Real Madrid were of course back in action a short time ago, welcoming Valencia to Spain’s capital for a crunch La Liga clash.
The outing ultimately proved to be one to forget for the reigning champions, who found themselves condemned to the wrong side of a 2-1 result.
As much means that Real now face an uphill task in keeping alive their La Liga title push.
As alluded to above, though, whilst, as a collective, Los Merengues toiled on Saturday, one member of the club’s attacking ranks nevertheless managed a noteworthy achievement when it comes to the history books.
After drawing Real Madrid level early in the 2nd-half against Valencia, Vinícius Jr. took his goalscoring for the club to 104.
This is one goal more than was managed by fellow Brazilian and Blancos icon Ronaldo Nazário during his own time at the Santiago Bernabéu.
