USOPC spokesman Jon Mason confirmed in a statement to AP: “Following our thorough internal evaluation, we can confirm that Gary Colliander and Eileen Carey are no longer affiliated with the USOPC.”
Mason declined to provide a reason for the USOPC parting from the pair, though he told AP that Colliander’s case “remains active with SafeSport,” which is a non-profit organization set up to investigate sex-abuse allegations in Olympic sports. Colliander and Carey were fired on March 14, per the outlet.
Colliander’s attorney Simone Montoya told AP in a statement that her client “adamantly denies any wrongdoing or inappropriate behavior, as alleged” and that he “is committed to full and transparent cooperation into this matter.”

“He denies any conduct in violation of the SafeSport Code or applicable laws and policies and maintains that he has always upheld professional standards throughout his career," she added.
The USOPC and Colliander’s attorneys did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
This comes several months after AP released a report in which biathlete Grace Boutot — whom Colliander previously coached in the 2000s — accused him of sexual abuse. The pair trained at the Maine Winter Sports Center, where Carey worked as the vice president, per AP.
