The Oklahoma City Thunder have clinched the first seed. Not surprising considering they've held a double-digit game lead in the standings for most of the season. But let's look at the rest of the West playoff picture.
The Thunder enter Friday's game against the Utah Jazz with a lengthy injury report. Their top seven players will all sit out as they have nothing to play for with the NBA's best record clinched. The Jazz are also motivated to lose to secure the NBA's worst record.
Less than a week remains in the 2024-25 regular season. Even though the Thunder aren't involved, plenty of heated races for seeding have ramped up as the margin for error gets thinner. Thunder Wire will conduct daily updates on the West's standings until the season ends:
What happened last night?
Timberwolves 141, Grizzlies 125: This could have massive ramifications for the play-in tournament. The last three days will be a tight finish between the 3-8 spots, as only two games separate the bunch. Anthony Edwards stepped up to get 44 points in the high-scoring win. Julius Randle also had 31 points. Meanwhile, Ja Morant had 36 points and Desmond Bane had 28 points in the tough loss.
