Wednesday will mark the first day of the NCAA transfer portal reopening for football student-athletes. The NCAA transfer portal will remain open through April 25.
Former Tennessee quarterback Nico Iamaleava is searching for a new school after intending to enter the NCAA transfer portal. Iamaleava left Tennessee after not attending the Vols' final spring practice and Orange & White Game last week.
On Tuesday, Pete Nakos of On3 announced Tulane is not recruiting Iamaleava.
"Tulane is pulling out of Tennessee transfer QB Nico Iamaleava's portal recruitment," On3 announced.
News regarding Iamaleava and Tulane comes after the former Tennessee quarterback was no longer a target for North Carolina.
The 6-foot-6, 220-pound signal-caller appeared in 18 games for the Vols from 2023-24. He completed 241-of-379 passing attempts for 2,930 yards, 21 touchdowns and five interceptions. Iamaleava also recorded 435 rushing yards and six touchdowns on 129 attempts.
Iamaleava went to Tennessee from Warren High School in Downey, California.
