UFC Vegas 105's official weigh-ins did not go off without a hitch.
Brazilian bantamweight hopeful Daniel Santos failed to even make an appearance at Friday's weigh-ins in Las Vegas. As a result, his bout with Davey Grant has been canceled due to "medical issues," according to the UFC. Grant made weight at 135.5 pounds.
The canceled fight is Santos' sixth in his UFC career since joining the promotion in 2021. All but the first have been due to issues on Santos' side. He is 2-1 in his three Octagon appearances, most recently earning a unanimous decision win over Johnny Munoz in October 2023.
One of the card's other bantamweight prospects, Cortavious Romious, also had a scale mishap as he badly missed the bantamweight non-title limit by 3.5 pounds and will forfeit 20% of his purse for his main-card bout Chang Ho Lee. Romious had never missed weight before Friday. He's fought most of his career at featherweight but has competed high as lightweight.
A featherweight contender clash between Josh Emmett and Lerone Murphy headlines UFC Vegas 105. Both main-event fighters hit their target marks, with Emmet tipping the scales at 146 pounds and Murphy coming in a half-pound lighter at 145.5 pounds.
