Alexander Volkanovski vs. Max Holloway was one of the most important series in UFC featherweight history.
Volkanovski and Holloway fought a total of three times, with Volkanovski winning all three bouts. The first two were close fights and Holloway kept on knocking off top contenders, which is why a third fight was prompted. But if anyone had doubts on who was the better fighter after two bouts, Volkanovski made sure to clear those doubts in their third meet back at UFC 276 in 2022.
Volkanovski put on a clinic, winning a dominant unanimous decision that read 49–46, 49–46, and 50–45 against Holloway.
You can watch the end of their trilogy in the video above.
Volkanovski (26-5 MMA, 13-4 UFC) returns to the cage this Saturday in the main event of UFC 314 (pay-per-view, ESPN, ESPN+), which takes place at Kaseya Center in Miami. He fights top contender Diego Lopes (27-6 MMA, 6-1 UFC) for the vacant UFC featherweight title.
