Tyreek Hill fuels, then shuts down 'false narrative' trade rumors

Tyreek Hill spent his weekend doing what he so often does: stirring up drama on social media. But on Monday, the Miami Dolphins wide receiver made it clear that his trolling shouldn't be confused with an actual attempt to broker a trade.

It started Sunday when a Dolphins fan proposed a deal to send Hill elsewhere. The receiver seemingly endorsed the idea with a smiley emoji.

That, like much of what Hill posts on social media, raised eyebrows. But when an account posted an unfounded rumor that Hill was aiming to get traded to a playoff contender, he laughed off the "false narrative."

On Monday, Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel told reporters that there are no plans for the two sides to part ways any time soon.

"We are fully planning to move forward as a better version of our relationship with Tyreek and the Miami Dolphins. So I have no reason to think otherwise," McDaniel said.

Hill, 31, missed the Pro Bowl for the first time in his NFL career after finishing the 2024 season with 81 receptions for 959 yards and six touchdowns. In the Dolphins' Week 18 loss, the receiver pulled himself out of the game early and later told reporters in the locker room that he was "opening the door" to leave Miami.

Since then, both the Dolphins and Hill have doused the flames and seemingly paved a path forward for reconciliation and another season together in 2025.
