New York Mets starter Tylor Megill had a tremendous start to the season on Friday, shutting down the Houston Astros on the road to the tune of three hits and one earned run allowed over five innings with six strikeouts. It was just enough to lock down a 3-1 win.
Afterwards, Megill sported a t-shirt in his postgame interview that explained the mantra of the team's pitching staff, which is effectively a reminder to just throw strikes, but with a notably NSFW spin.
Judging from the sheepish expression on his face when asked about the phrase, it seems Megill thought he could escape the interview without having to answer for his apparel.

Maybe there's just something about this time of year that's ripe for double entendre within the Mets organization. A year ago Saturday, the world was introduced to Seymour Weiner when the ballclub made the 97-year-old the Veteran of the Game at Citi Field — and then brought him back to increase hot dog sales at the stadium.
Besides, it's getting increasingly tough to make complete sense of all the good luck charms the Mets have stumbled into. Last year had OMG signs, Grimace and pumpkins. This season already has fresh-baked bread infiltrating the clubhouse.
The Mets are weird and juvenile and it works. Even if it's not something you always want to have to explain.
