The University of Texas hosted the 97th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays last week at Mike A. Meyers stadium.
The annual track meet in Austin is one of the most competitive events in the nation each year and features athletes from around the country. This year, high school athletes from Alabama, Louisiana, Oklahoma and California competed alongside athletes from the Lone Star State at the Texas Relays.
Additionally, there are divisions for collegiate and professional athletes at the event as well. Former Springlake-Earth star and current Texas Tech freshman Taytum Goodman competed for the Red Raiders, while West Texas A&M's Isaac Botsio placed third in the 100-meter dash and freshman Abigail Abugire won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:04.89, beating out Arkansas senior Anna Podojil.
This year's event also featured a number of high school athletes from the Texas Panhandle, with runners, throwers and jumpers from more than five schools around Amarillo competing in Austin. Two competitors from the Texas Panhandle won their events, with a few more placing in the top five.
With all the dust settled and the meet in the rear view mirror, here is how every athlete from the Amarillo area performed in the finals of the 97th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.
