AC Milan could make some changes to the striker department during the summer, and Lorenzo Lucca is a name that they are watching closely.
As Tuttosport (via UdineseBlog) report today, Milan are one of the teams that are thinking about Lucca for the future. This evening, the management will have the opportunity to see the centre-forward up close given he is almost certain to start.
The paper adds that Lucca is ‘the most watched Italian striker’ in Serie A in terms of clubs being interested. He is having a positive season with 10 league goals and was linked to Milan during the January window, with Udinese rejecting the advance and Santiago Gimenez arriving.
The price tag is high in view of the upcoming mercato and if Lucca’s upward trend were to continue, the €28.5m that Milan paid to sign Gimenez from Feyenoord could become a figure of reference.
Whoever the next coach is for the Rossoneri – with Maurizio Sarri the main name at the moment per our sources – they will certainly have to try and build around the Mexican because of the investment made.
Tammy Abraham still hopes to convince Milan that he is worth making a permanent signing, but in the intensified pursuit for Italian players Lucca could have an audition of sorts tonight.
