'They need him' - How Rice shone while other Arsenal stars were rested

Match of the Day pundit Micah Richards praises midfielder Declan Rice's "remarkable" energy in Arsenal's 1-1 draw against Brentford.

Rice assisted Thomas Partey's goal which opened the scoring, however, striker Yoane Wissa scored late in the second half to bring the Bees level.

"He's so dependable for this team", Richards said, speaking about Rice. "For his power and his pace. His awareness on the pitch, it's breathtaking."

Since Arsenal have made that little tweak from [playing Rice in] the number six to the number eight, he's at his best when he's running at people.=

"They don't rest him because they need him so much. It's remarkable."

The 25-year-old has made 30 appearances overall this season and has played according to Opta a total of 2,416 minutes in the Premier League.
