The Celtics set an NBA 3-point record Friday night as Boston cruised to a 123-103 win over Phoenix at the Garden

The Boston Celtics defeated the Phoenix Suns 123-103 at home Friday night. The Celtics are now 57-20 for the regular season, with just five games remaining before the playoffs begin.

The Suns were without Kevin Durant, a major blow to a mediocre offensive team fighting for its life in the West standings. Boston, meanwhile, was at full strength, and by the middle of the second quarter, the defending champions established a comfortable lead. It was around that time that the Celtics set the new NBA record for most made 3-pointers in a season, a fitting accolade on a night where Boston outshot their opponent handily. Per usual, this was a big driver for what was a low-stress win for the Celtics, who are back in action Sunday evening at home against the Washington Wizards.
