Tennessee Titans' Dan Moore Jr. motivated to prove doubters, critics wrong
One of the Tennessee Titans' biggest goals during the offseason is to revamp their offense. Calvin Ridley, Tony Pollard, and other skill players were never going anywhere, but the offensive line and quarterback position needed some upgrades.
The Titans addressed the offensive line by signing veteran guards Kevin Zeitler, Blake Hance, and Dan Moore Jr., although there's been backlash for the sizeable contract given to Moore.
Coming from the Pittsburgh Steelers, Moore only missed two games out of 68 possible appearances for the black and gold, starting 66 games in total. Moore has heard the critics and the doubters; the people saying the Titans shouldn't have signed him or that they gave him too much money, and he's using it as motivation.
"Obviously I want to exceed expectations," Moore said, via the Titans' official website. "But it's not only about proving the team right, it's about proving myself right. I feel like my expectations will always be higher than anyone else's are for me. I feel like by meeting my expectations, I'll exceed the team's expectations.
"So, not only do I want to prove them right, I want to prove them damn right, where (they're thinking): "We got our guy. He didn't just do what we needed him to do, he did that and more." That is the consensus I want in the organization."
Moore is also joining some familiar faces whose presence will make his transition to Tennessee smoother. He met Peter Skoronski a few years ago when they began training together in Dallas, and recently J.C. Latham joined them. Two of the guys he will line up with this fall are guys he's already familiar with, making the bond between the linemen that much stronger. And when your linemen have a bond that keeps them on the same page, the quarterback is more likely to remain protected.
Growing up in Houston, Texas, Moore is quite familiar with the history of the Titans and is proud to be part of this team. He's ready to show his new team and its fanbase that he is ready and motivated to win games in 2025.
