Swift Current Broncos Secure Final Playoff Spot In The Eastern Conference
The Swift Current Broncos are headed to the 2025 WHL Playoffs. Swift Current claimed the final spot in the Eastern Conference on Friday thanks to Red Deer's overtime loss to the Prince Albert Raiders. While the Broncos still have a chance to move up in the standings, they will most likely finish as the eighth seed and will take on the Central Division winner.
This will be the second consecutive season that Swift Current qualifies for the postseason. They are led by Luke Mistelbacher and Seattle Kraken prospect Clarke Caswell, who both surpassed the 80-point mark this season. The Broncos also have some exciting draft prospects on their roster, including defenseman Peyton Kettles, who is projected to be drafted in the second round.
Swift Current is postseason-bound in large part due to their play at home. They have gone 20-12-1 so far this season and have scored 125 of their 224 goals at the InnovationPlex. The Broncos will also be looking to improve on their run in the 2024 WHL Playoffs when they were eliminated in the second round.
