Stephen Curry's Injury Status Before Golden State Warriors-Miami Heat
Thursday night's matchup between the Golden State Warriors and the Miami Heat is a big one for all the obvious reasons. This game will be the first one back for Jimmy Butler to Pat Riley's stomping grounds. Whether Butler will be amply supported by his superstar running mate in Golden State has been revealed.
The fallout between the Heat and Butler was well documented. It involved a lot of infighting, suspensions, and eventually a trade request that was granted. The Warriors have been able to reap the rewards since, riding a huge wave of momentum with Butler in the lineup.
There are only so many opportunities in life that are given out for someone to really show that they are undoubtedly winning the breakup. While the records of the two sides since the Butler trade should be telling enough, getting that head-to-head win in the return to Miami would only make it more sweet.
Unfortunately for Butler and the Warriors, they will have to try and accomplish that task without their all-time great point guard. Stephen Curry has been ruled out for the game against the Heat as the four-time champion continues to work his way back from his pelvic contusion.
Steve Kerr said Steph Curry made a movement in his workout yesterday that didn’t feel quite right and training staff determined he wasn’t ready and clearance for Miami game wasn’t worth the risk. Warriors expect Curry back in New Orleans on Friday. pic.twitter.com/00NObOMFZz

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr explained that Curry's movement did not look 'quite right' despite some initial promise. Golden State decided to take the cautious approach with the injury, considering their upcoming schedule.
One would imagine Curry is the type of player who wanted to help his new teammate secure bragging rights over his old team. However, the ultimate goal of winning a championship looms large in Golden State. If Butler helped the Warriors accomplish that goal, it would just as easily make his point.
