Sixers injury news: Andre Drummond receives tough news amid toe issue

The injury bug has been a big presence for the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2024-25 season. Throughout the season, players have been dealing with a ton of injuries and four of them--including stars Joel Embiid and Paul George--have been ruled out for the season.

Andre Drummond, who hasn't played since March 12 due to a left toe sprain, received some tough news before Philadelphia's contest against the Miami Heat on Saturday. The Sixers announced that Drummond will miss at least the next five games and will be re-evaluated in a week.

By the time Drummond gets re-evaluated, Philadelphia will have three games left. One could argue that there isn't a reason to bring the 2-time All-Star back from the injury unless coach Nick Nurse wants to throw him out there to see what the veteran can do after the injury.

Drummond has played 40 games in the 2024-25 season and is averaging 7.3 points and 7.8 rebounds. He has a $5 million player option for the 2025-26 season.
