Could the younger brother of Washington legend Sean Taylor follow in his brother's footsteps? Gabe Taylor was a multi-year starter for Rice and is expected to be drafted at some point in this month's 2025 NFL draft.
The Rice Owls recently held their annual pro day, and Taylor put on a show. The safety ran the 40-yard dash with times between 4.38 and 4.4 seconds. An Instagram post showed Taylor at Rice's pro day.
Former Washington wide receiver Santana Moss commented: "Yessuhh." Moss was close to Sean Taylor from their time at the University of Miami and with the Redskins. Moss and Clinton Portis have remained close with Taylor's family since his tragic death in November 2007.
After his pro day, Taylor spoke briefly about what NFL teams would get in him.
"A diamond in the rough," Taylor said. "A person that's going to come in and compete. I don't care about being a superstar......I want to be the best role player I can be."
