Saints WR Brandin Cooks eager to work with 'the best receiver coach in the league'

In his first time meeting with the media since rejoining the New Orleans Saints, Brandin Cooks gave Keith Williams some of the highest praise you could give him. The wide receiver said, "I really do believe he's the best receiver coach in the league," based on what he's been able to prove with players on his team and others he mentors around the league.

Cooks has never played for Keith Williams, but he is far from unfamiliar with his new wide receivers coach. The two go back to Cooks' high school playing days. Both men are from Stockton, Ca and Williams knew Cooks' brothers.

Brandin and Williams' introduction came when Williams was at Fresno State. Williams tried to recruit Cooks before the receiver ultimately landed at Oregon State. Apparently, Fresno State was never option for Cooks. He retold the story of how that conversation went with a smile: "Keith, I'm not going Fresno."

It's funny how life works. If Cooks would have committed to Fresno State, he would have been coached by Williams and catching passes from Derek Carr. He passed on that opportunity, but now Cooks will be coached by Williams and catching passes from Carr as a member of the Saints.
