Claudio Ranieri warns that Roma must ‘immediately adapt’ to Lecce and feels Matias Soulé has ‘significant room for improvement.’
The Italian tactician spoke to DAZN before an away game at Lecce on Saturday evening.
“We have to play our game. It won’t be easy,” the coach said via TMW.
“Points are important for everyone now. Lecce are skilled in pressing and counter-attacking. We need to adapt to the reality of a difficult match immediately.”
Soulé and Lorenzo Pellegrini start as attacking midfielders as Paulo Dybala is out for the rest of the season.
“Soulé has significant room for improvement, especially in adapting to the reality of a big team,” Ranieri said.
“He can express himself freely in the final third. It’s right to let him do what he wants inside that area.
“I asked Pellegrini and everyone else to give their best. He was in a terrible situation when I arrived, but we haven’t achieved anything yet.”
