Pulisic declares Udinese victory Milan’s ‘best performance’ under Conceicao

Christian Pulisic believes that Milan put in their best performance to date under head coach Sergio Conceicao with a 4-0 win away against Udinese in Serie A on Friday night.

Goals from Rafael Leao, Strahinja Pavlovic, Theo Hernandez and Tijjani Reijnders capped off an entertaining Rossoneri display in Udine, which was briefly interrupted by a nasty head injury to Mike Maignan.

Pulisic also thought he had the ball in the back of the net for Milan’s fifth just before the 90th minute, but Tammy Abraham got the slightest of touches on it with his head, which meant that it was ruled out for offside.

Chatting after full-time, Pulisic was asked by DAZN if he thinks this was Milan’s best performance to date since Conceicao took over at the start of January.

The USMNT star replied: “Yes, we won and didn’t concede – That’s really nice. There’s a lot of competition for assists with me and Leao, but when we win and play like this it’s great. And he’s super when he does this, with goals and assists.”

He also sent a message to Maignan, who was conscious and talking after being stretchered off, but has been taken to hospital for further checks

“The most important thing is that Mike is okay. Our thoughts are with him,” Pulisic said.
