Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou says that “sensitive information” has been leaking from the club since last year and that it is “unacceptable”.
News broke of French winger Wilson Odobert getting scans for a possible injury before Tottenham’s Europa League quarter-final tie on Thursday.
The Spurs manager has insisted that the leak is a source from within the club and not an agent, for example.
“The stuff’s that gone out has been pretty specific,” he explained.
“The language used is not used by agents, trust me.
“I’ve always said that, especially with medical information, I’m really careful because even in the world of football I know everyone thinks that these things should be carte blanche in terms of information, I’m still very respectful of people’s medical records and how much information we actually give on certain things
“Sometimes players do not want that information disclosed, simple as that and the fact that it’s getting out is unacceptable.”
Meanwhile, Tottenham captain Heung min-Son has struggled to find the net in 2025, only scoring four goals but the Australian says that he is still the right man to lead Tottenham.
“I think he has been able to separate being captain and his personal frustration but he is frustrated,” he said.
“Like all attacking players, scoring goals is a big part of their game and certainly a big part of Sonny’s game. His returns over the last ten years have been remarkable for a player of his position.
“In the last two games in particular he has been really trying hard to make sure that he serves the team and does not take things personally.
“He has been an instigator in pretty much all of our goals so I think if he was desperate for goals he would have taken other options.”
Postecoglou also reiterated that his focus is on trying to change the organisation of the club.
“That is the bit that we, not just me but the other people in the club, are trying to change,” he said. “Trying to get the club to a place where there is a real strong mentality and identity of who we are. We will make sure we have the right professional mindset of the game because to have success in football is really difficult.”
