Parke Heritage, Clay City advance to semistate finals; North, Linton fall
Top-ranked Clay City beat Liberty Christian 63-55 in the semifinals of the Class A Seymour Semistate, while Parke Heritage edged Forest Park 48-46 on a last-minute basket in the semifinals at the 2A Washington Semistate in high school boys basketball state tournament action Saturday.
Meanwhile, Terre Haute North got ousted in a 75-56 loss to Lawrence North at the 4A New Castle Semistate semifinals, and Linton was eliminated in a 59-56 loss to University in the later semifinal at the 2A Washington Semistate. Terre Haute North finished 21-6, while Linton closed at 21-7.
Clay City (now 26-1) plays Orleans (23-4) for the Seymour Semistate title at 8 p.m. tonight. Parke Heritage (25-4) faces University (19-9) in the Washington Semistate final ay 7:30 p.m. tonight.
