Paige Bueckers put together a career performance during the Sweet 16 of the 2025 women's NCAA Tournament.
Bueckers scored a career-high 40 points in UConn women's basketball's 82-59 win over Oklahoma on Saturday at Spokane Arena. The scoring mark also set a UConn single-game NCAA tournament scoring record, breaking the previous record held by Kerry Bascom since 1991.
Bueckers, who is headed to the WNBA Draft following the conclusion of the 2024-25 season, will need another big performance as No. 2 seed UConn takes on No. 1 USC. The Trojans will be without star JuJu Watkins, as she tore her ACL against Mississippi State in the second round.
The UConn senior had 29 points in the second half against the Sooners, sparking a comeback for the Huskies after they trailed by four at halftime. Bueckers shot 16 of 27 from the field, including 6 of 8 on 3-pointers. She also had six rebounds, three steals and two blocks.
