OU basketball's Duke Miles to enter transfer portal, per report

NORMAN — OU senior guard Duke Miles is entering the transfer portal, he told On3 on Wednesday.

In one season with the Sooners, Miles averaged 9.4 points, 2.5 rebounds and two assists per game.

Miles is the fourth OU player to enter the portal since its season ended with a loss to UConn in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Miles, who previously played for Troy and High Point, scored just five points in the loss.

In addition to Miles, the Sooners have lost Jacob Fredson-Cole, Yaya Keita and Luke Northweather to the portal.

Oklahoma Sooners guard Duke Miles (15) moves past Texas A&M Aggies guard Jace Carter (0) during an SEC men's college basketball game between the University of Oklahoma Sooners (OU) and the Texas A&M Aggies at Lloyd Noble Center in Norman, Okla., Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2025. Texas A&M won 80-78.

OU has aggressively recruited the portal, hosting TCU's Frankie Collins and reportedly Notre Dame's Tae Davis for visits this week. Milwaukee transfer Jamichael Stillwell is also planning on visiting the Sooners.

It appears OU's roster is headed toward another overhaul. Following the Sooners' season-ending loss, coach Porter Moser expressed the importance of winning transfer portal battles in April and May.

In an effort to help with that cause, former Sooners star Trae Young announced Monday he's accepted an assistant general manager position with the program, in which he'll be "assisting with the evaluation of high school and transfer portal prospects, as well as helping negotiate player contracts," per a release.
