GREENVILLE, S.C. - One Knoxville SC topped Greenville Triumph 3-1 on April 2 to advance for the first time to the third round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
Stavros Zarakostas scored in the 15th minute from the top of the box after Greenville failed to clear a bouncing ball, then assisted 10 minutes later Mark Doyle's goal to put One Knox up 2-0.
Greenville scored in the 55th minute to close the gap, but One Knox's Babacar Diene scored in the 94th minute to put the match away in stoppage time.
With the win, One Knoxville SC remains unbeaten with three wins and a draw through four matches.
"Advancing to the third round of the U.S. Open Cup for the first time is a testament to theculture being built here at One Knox," Zarakostas said. "This is a group that is capable ofpushing the club forward. We’re happy to get to the third round and we’re planning to keep itrolling."
