Oklahoma State baseball's Harrison Bodendorf throws 10 innings in victory over Arizona

Oklahoma State left-hander Harrison Bodendorf went the distance, but not just nine innings.

Try 10.

The Cowboys' 6-foot-5 junior threw a 10-inning complete game in the Cowboys' 4-2 win over No. 20-ranked Arizona late Friday night, going old school while throwing 125 pitches and striking out 10 while allowing just one earned run on three hits.

OSU (16-15, 5-6 Big 12) ran its conference win streak to four straight. The Cowboys have won four of their past five games.

Bodendorf, a Hawaii transfer, improved to 7-1 overall. He also threw 117 pitches, seven innings and did not allow an earned run against Kansas State last weekend. He's yet to allow more than four earned runs in a game this season.

Oklahoma State's Harrison Bodendorf (15) throws a pitch in the first inning during the college baseball game between the Oklahoma State University Cowboys and the UT Arlington at O'Brate Stadium in Stillwater, Okla., Sunday, Feb., 23, 2025.

Arizona scored an unearned run in the first inning to take a 1-0 lead. OSU responded with a two-run single by Drew Culbertson in the fourth to take the lead.

Bodendorf did not allow another run until Aaron Walton's game-tying solo homer in the bottom of the ninth.

But the Pokes responded with a two-run single by Arkansas transfer Jayson Jones in the 10th. Then, the Cowboys stuck with Bodendorf in the 10th.

The Wildcats got the tying run to the plate after Andrew Cain reached second on an error to open the inning. But Jones made a diving catch at third base, Bodendorf got his final strikeout and then a groundout to seal the win.

Game 2 of the three-game series is at 8 p.m. CT Saturday.
