Official: Barcelona confirm knee injuries to key duo following Atletico Madrid win
Barcelona have officially confirmed that both Inigo Martinez and Marc Casado have suffered knee injuries following their 4-2 win over Atletico Madrid on Sunday night.
The Blaugrana have not officially confirmed the exact timeline for the recoveries of the Spanish duo, both of whom have withdrawn from the Spain squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League games against the Netherlands.
“Tests carried out this morning have confirmed that first team player Inigo Martinez has internal parameniscitis of the right knee. The player will undergo treatment in Barcelona under the supervision of the Club’s medical services,” the club’s statement read.

While the club might not have given a timeline, earlier reports suggested that Martinez could be out for a period of two to three weeks.
On Casado, the Catalans confirmed the following: “Tests carried out this morning have shown that first-team player Marc Casado has a ligament injury in his right knee. Further tests are pending to determine the exact extent of the injury and further treatment.”
Things are much more concerning as far as Casado’s prognosis is concerned, with reports suggesting that the midfielder might be sidelined for at least two months – meaning his season might very well be over.
